Founders Academy takes data protection, privacy and the security of your personal data seriously.

This privacy notice describes the type of personal data we may collect about you, what we do with it and how we keep it safe. It reflects our internal data protection policy, a copy of which can be provided on request.

What personal data we collect

Contact forms

We collect and process personal data including:

  • Name

  • Contact information (e.g. email address)

  • Social profile (LinkedIn URL address)

  • Other data related to our programme selection process (e.g. years professional experience, interview and assessment data, right to work data)

  • For our programme participants, additional data relating to their work during the course of the programme and other personal data required to deliver elements of the programme

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Why we collect this data and how we use it

Founders Academy needs to gather and use certain information about individuals to support its activities.

The main activities that utilise the data collected are:

  • Recruitment and selection for our programme

  • Programme delivery

  • ‘Community’ activity e.g. events, communications etc. to our network of organisations, trainers, coaches, mentors and other programme supporters

  • General marketing and communications.


Who we share your data with

We will sometimes need to share your data with a limited and authorised list of trusted suppliers, third parties and applications, to support the development and delivery of our aims and activities.

We have contracts and agreements in place with these third parties to ensure that your data is kept safe and used appropriately, in line with data protection law and regulations.


How long we retain your data

We only keep your data for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.


What rights have you over your data

You have the following rights in respect of our processing of your personal data:

  • Access to the personal data we hold about you

  • The correction of your personal data when incorrect, out of date or incomplete

  • The deletion, erasure or removal of your personal data

  • That processing of your personal data be blocked

  • To move, copy or transfer personal data easily from one IT environment to another in a safe and secure way

  • Right to object to the processing of your data

How we protect your data

The security of your data is extremely important, so we work with an IT systems and support provider to implement safeguards designed to protect your data.

If your personal data is on printed material, we ensure that it is stored in a lockable filing cabinet.


What third parties we receive data from

We work with third parties (including, for example, providers in technical, payment services, advertising networks, analytics providers and search information providers), and we may receive, collect, store, and use information about you from them. We may partner with certain third parties to collect the Other Information and to engage in analysis, auditing, research and reporting or for use in providing online interest-based advertising on our behalf.  These third parties may use web logs or web beacons, and they may set and access cookies or similar technologies on your device.  They may also use information about your use of the Founders Academy Site to help target non-Founders Academy advertisements based on your online activity in general.
